Two graduates of the Master of Science Degree in Hydrographic Science successfully completed their studies at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) and a graduation recognition ceremony was held at the Gulf Park Campus on 1 August 2019. The graduates are Mr. Mohd Massuoadi bin Mohd Zukri (Malaysia) and Mr. Kirill Anjutin (Estonia) sponsored by the Republic of Korea through the Capacity Building programme of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO). Mr. Chang Sun CHO represented KHOA and delivered a speech during the ceremony congratulating the graduates. The degree is recognized as “Category A” by the FIG-IHO-ICA International Board on Standards of Competence for Hydrographic Surveyors and Nautical Cartographers (IBSC).
KHOA has been sponsoring IHO students to participate in the degree programme at the USM since 2013 and there are 15 graduates to date. Mr. Adrian Montufar Arroyo (Mexico) and Mr. Rami Lamouchi (Tunisia) were selected to join the 2019-2020 class. The next call for applications is likely to be released soon through an IHO circular letter.
